My Teaching Creed

I believe my students are smart,
I trust them,
They are wise enough to make the choices that are most beneficial to them,
They are the keepers of their own experiences.

I do not police and control my students because
I believe in their freedom to choose experiences, as well as,
The consequences that arise from their choices.

I want my students to know that I believe they are a valuable member of the school and of the class.
I will try to help when, and if, they ask me for help.

Reduce the drama, and increase the fun.
Nothing is a big deal.
Everything is the way it's supposed to be.
All is good.

-Dr. Bogard

INTERESTED IN GOING TO THE STATE COMPETITION?

Q: Why would you want to go to a state foreign language competition?

A: First, because you need to win some academic awards for your college applications. You don't want to leave this section blank, do you?

A:
Second, there are four scholarships this year that can be applied for at FASG. The FATG Scholarship (Florida Teachers of German Association) , the Delta Epsilon Phi Scholarship,  German-American Club of Sun City Center Florida Inc and the United German American Society of Florida Inc. (UGASF) scholarship.  Only students present at the convention can apply for a scholarship. This student must have demonstrated a sincere interest in the study of German. The scholarship must be used to further help their academic future.

Read all about it on
www.fasg.net. Then let your teacher know that you'd like to participate. There will be bi-monthly meetings for students to get all the details, register for their competitions and to practice. Students need $65 for registration and $125 for 3 nights at the Daytona Beach Resort (due by Thanksgiving).
This year's convention theme is: the German-American Connection
