GERMAN COURSE INFORMATION DOCUMENTS

PROJECT MENU

Students are encouraged to personalize their own German class experience by:

1. setting their own grade goal,
2. choosing some projects based on their talents and interests, and
3. setting their own project deadlines.

Students should write their Work Plan during the first week of each quarter!!
Appointments with the German instructor are available before school should anyone need help developing their action plan.

                     KEEP ON TRACK!
There are 6 required projects every quarter and 8 weeks to complete them.

YOU set your own deadlines for each project (except the Culture project which all students present on the same day, so yours must be finished before the presentation day)

Get your projects checked with the teacher, in class, as soon as you finish each assignment.

Try to get a project checked EVERY WEEK!

How long does it take to complete each project? *Of course this varies among students, but in general...

Culture= 3 days
3 Rosetta Stone Lessons= 5 days
Impromptu Essay= 5 days
Rosetta Stone Pronunciation= 3 days
3 Grammar Chapters= 6 days
Flashcards= 5 days

That's 27 days and you have 40 school days to use
. So...even if you're absent, you still have lots of time
to complete these projects, build your German language skills and even do some optional "fun" projects.
REMEMBER TO MANAGE YOUR CLASSTIME WELL! Work bell to bell and save your socializing for the last 5 minutes of class.

*IB students have 2-3 extra grammar chapters and 7 extra RS lessons to help them prepare for the IB exam. Please add 6 days to your grammar schedule and 7 more days for the computer lessons. That makes 40 days of work. If you have any excused absences, you may come before school to make up the class time you missed . Consider doing your Culture Research, Flashcard Article Research and studying your Flashcard Vocabulary List at home.
