Odyssey Team Behavior Plan 2010-2011
Below is our behavior plan that was created to help our team maintain a respectful, clean, organized, and fun environment for everyone. Please read over the rules, consequences, and rewards carefully. When you are finished, please sign the attached form acknowledging both you and your child are aware of the behavior plan.
Odyssey Team Rules:
- Come to class prepared.
- Be respectful to teachers, peers, and their property.
- Use common sense/follow school wide and classroom rules.
- Stay on task.
- Leave classroom/items better than you found it.
Misconducts will be given for violating any of the above rules. There is a copy of the misconduct form attached. For each misconduct given, there will a series of consequences:
Step 1: Warning
Step 2: Lunch Detention/Letter to Parent from Student
Step 3: Phone Call Home/Action Plan
Step 4: Parent Conference
Step 5: Office Referral
After thirty or more school days without a misconduct, the student will not advance to the next step when a misconduct is received. (See outline above.)
At the end of each quarter, students that have not received any misconducts for that quarter will be rewarded (reward TBA).
There will also be “Caught Being Good” certificates. A copy of this is attached. These will be given to students we see doing things above and beyond our expectations. When a student receives a “Caught Being Good” certificate, he or she places a copy of the certificate in a large box in the middle room. From time to time, we will draw certificates out of the box for rewards and prizes.

SAMPLE PARENT LETTER
I am writing this letter because I am now on step 2 of the behavior plan. Step 2 requires me to serve lunch detention and write to you explaining the circumstances that led to my misconduct(s). My explanation is below. When you’ve finished reading this, please sign it so I can return it to my teachers tomorrow. If I don’t, I might get another misconduct!
