Meet Your Teacher

      It is always difficult to talk about yourself.  I shall do my best, however, to give you some information so you can get to know me better.
    I have been teaching for 34 years, all in the state of Florida...14 of them in Sarasota.  I cannot think of anyplace I would rather be.  We have beaches, museums, theater and fabulous families.
    I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degree at Central Michigan University.  Later in my career I became ESOL endorsed.  I taught several years in the area of Speech and Language.  By chance I was given the opportunity to "try" teaching in a classroom.  I loved it then and continue to love it.  I cannot imagine doing anything else.  
    I was lucky enough to get a job at Tatum Ridge Elementary the first year it opened.  In all my years in education I had never worked at a new school.  Not only was it new, it was filled with lots of technology.  It is a great place to work.
    The year is just beginning and already I have fallen in love with my new students and parents.  I look forward to a fabulous year.
