Our class made lovely flag hats to wear to the Veterans' Day assembly.

Drop Everything And Read!
     
During D.E.A.R., students grab a book and a "reading buddy" animal, then they sit back and enjoy.

Spider Centers

We've been studying animals with backbones. During these centers, we compared and contrasted creatures without backbones. We discovered that insects and spiders have their skeletons on the outside. Some students started the day not liking spiders, but changed their minds after learning so much about them! Still looking for these pictures; my camera broke down and I had to get a new one.


Open House

Many families enjoyed reading together at Open House.


Beginning of the Year Centers 

Students built structures with blocks, then wrote about their creations. Laptops were available for skill practice activities.

Students also practiced group cooperation by putting together puzzles.

Math

Students used M&Ms to practice subtraction skills.
