Hi!  My name is Ms. Thomas. When I first moved to Florida, from Iowa, in the summer of 2004, I moved to Punta Gorda.  Four weeks later, my apartment was completely destroyed in Hurricane Charley, so I was forced to move to the closest town with apartments left--Sarasota.  Boy am I thankful--I can't imagine living anywhere else now!

This is  my seventh year at Wilkinson, boy how time flies!  Probably because I love what I do!  I love watching students grow first into independent thinkers, and then into interdependent thinkers--working together to accomplish more than they could on their own!  I am excited to be moving to the third grade team this year after 6 years in fifth.  I had a great time doing the transitional summer school program in June, where I got to meet many of my new students!  It energized me for the year, and I can't wait to get going again!!

When I'm not at school, which suprisingly does happen from time to time :), I enjoy being around friends, reading, running, serving in the community, or building/making things.  I LOVE flowers, and have done quite a few weddings.  What about you?   I am looking forward to getting to know all my new families this year!
