Homework

Monday- Reading Folder (The students work on a book a work to help us learn our sight words.  The reading folder goes home each Monday to be read with families and then brought back to school on Tuesday.  The books stay at school in our book boxes so the children can read the over and over again.  The boxes will be filled with great reading for the children to bring home at the end of the school year!  Our flashcard sheets go home each Monday.  These are kept at home for practice during the week and sent back to school each Friday.

Tuesday- Sight Word Practice Book- This folder has a list of sight words the children need to learn as well as little rhymes we work on in class.  The children practice the sight word folders with their families and bring them back to school on Wednesday.

Wednesday- FAMILY NIGHT....NO HOMEWORK!

Thursday- Math homework folder to help us count by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's to 100!  Once the children master these skills, I will change their Thursday homework.

Friday- Poetry folders go home to help with rhyming and sight words.  The children read the poems with their families and return their folders to school on Monday.  This will give the children a collection of poems when they leave kindergarten.  Weekly reports also go home on Friday afternoons to inform the families of what we have been working on in class and what we will be doing the following week.  The behavior report needs to be signed and sent back to school on Monday.

*All homework is due back the next school day.  If it's not returned, children miss a part of recess time.
