Meet Your Teacher

My name is Shelia Riley. I am what you called a Sarasotian, born and raised here. I am a graduate of Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, FL. My career began in 1987 at Gocio Elementary teaching first grade. Two years later I transferred to Wilkinson Elementary as a second grade teacher. In 1993, I began teaching in one of the strands at our school called Project CHILD (Computers Helping Instruction and Learning Development). Students K-2, get the opportunity to work with the same three teachers for three years in Math, Reading, and Language Arts (Writing). Students also have hands-on experience every day with computers in all three classes, learning new skills and games to enhanced their growth. It has been a pleasure to work with so many students and to see the progress they have made in three years.
